I help founder-led consumer brands work out the big picture: what's actually profitable, where growth will come from, how you're resourced, and what to fix next.
Every project starts in the same place: looking at the business as a whole and agreeing what deserves attention next. Four areas I focus on.
Nothing else matters if the cash runs out. We start with unit economics, margins, working capital, and where the money actually goes.
Profitability before volumeWhich products and customers deserve your focus, and what to drop. A sharp, well-chosen niche beats a broad one almost every time.
Focus over spreadWhere the next growth comes from: domestic, export, new channels, partners, and the right order to tackle them.
The right move at the right timeHow you're resourced, what's working, what isn't, and what to automate or improve next.
Lean team, sharp processesEvery project starts with the same question: what deserves focus, and is this worth doing?
"Miia made the market situation, the competition and the realistic opportunities clear in a way that saved us a huge amount of money and unrealistic expectations. It also shaped the rest of our marketing, sales and product development."Anniina Kopperoinen — LovePaws Oy
"Miia found us the right product category and suggestions for three new products. The process felt natural and results-focused. I'd recommend her to companies with a good product but no clear direction yet."Liisa Lindroth — Deliverde Oy
"A calm, analytical and empathetic approach worked well for me. After 25 years in pharma and medical devices, I've seen a lot. Miia stood out."Mikko Laiho — Sabora Oy
I'm a Finnish-British entrepreneur. I founded Wren Ventures, and I'm an owner and shareholder of Rutherford Wren, a multi-brand consumer goods business I've built over more than ten years without outside funding.
Rutherford Wren runs three brands across the UK and US: Hemswell Crystal (premium crystal drinkware), Wrenbury (bakeware and kitchen tools) and Muldale (homeware rooted in English countryside heritage).
Before this, I led a fifty-person team at Idean during a period of fast international growth, and worked on online banking platforms at Nordea. I've also advised Moi Forest on financial planning, profitability and assortment.
